Skokie Festival of Culture

Event Details

Over two days in May, visitors enjoy ethnic folk music and dance, arts and crafts, international children’s games, food and drinks, cultural booths, and the festival’s iconic flag display. The festival has been honored with both state and national art event programming awards.

Nkul Beti is proud to participate in the Skokie Festival of Cultures, an annual event celebrating the rich diversity of Skokie, Illinois. Since its inception in 1991, the festival has grown into one of the premier ethnic festivals in Illinois, attracting over half a million visitors and showcasing dozens of cultures. Held at Oakton Park, the festival offers attendees a free “Tour of the World,” featuring ethnic folk music and dance performances, a wide array of food and beverages, unique arts and crafts, merchandise vendors, interactive cultural booths, and the festival’s famous flag display.

Through this festival, Nkul Beti have the opportunity to share the rich heritage of the Beti people through interactive cultural booths and engaging performances. By participating in this vibrant event, we connected with individuals from various backgrounds, fostering mutual understanding and appreciation of diverse cultures. We look forward to continuing our involvement in future editions of the Skokie Festival of Cultures, contributing to the celebration of global unity and cultural exchange.
